Phil Hagerman

Chief Executive Officer and Chariman, Diplomat; Founder and co-owner, Skypoint Ventures; President, The Hagerman Foundation

Phil co-founded Diplomat with his father in 1975. He has served as Diplomat’s chief executive officer and chairman of the Board of Directors since 1991. Phil’s day-to-day leadership of Diplomat gives him a unique perspective and understanding of specialty pharmacy, as well as critical insights into operations, strategy and competition as CEO & Chairman.

Throughout his career at Diplomat, he has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial skills and a drive to give back to the community. It is this focus on social impact that led Phil and his wife, Jocelyn, to found The Hagerman Foundation in 2014. Its mission is to brighten and improve the lives of future generations, creating positive change in Flint and the surrounding communities. The Foundation presented a $2 million gift to University of Michigan—Flint’s School of Management. The gift will establish the Hagerman Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, support student scholarships and help fund the student Entrepreneurs Society.

Phil has continued his mission to revitalize the community by creating Skypoint Ventures, a business development and real estate firm, located in the Dryden Building in downtown Flint that invests in companies that can create transformational change in their industries, as well as their emphasis on creating both value and community impact. As CEO of Skypoint, Phil works to enable opportunities for business, education and development in the community. In 2014, Skypoint bought the historical Dryden Building in downtown Flint, which now houses the offices of Skypoint and The Hagerman Foundation. In 2015, Skypoint purchased the Fenton Bean Company, a landmark building in Fenton, building and transformed it into the Red Fox Outfitters retail space. The redevelopment of these iconic buildings bring jobs and a new retail destination downtown.

Helping the community thrive is more than good business. It’s personal. Phil was born and raised in Genesee County; he feels compelled to give back to the communities in which he lives and works.
