Vice President of Programs at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation
Neal Hegarty is Vice President of Programs at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. He oversees grantmaking in the Foundation’s four program areas, and works closely with both senior management and program staff in designing and implementing the Foundation’s grantmaking strategies.
Neal joined the Mott Foundation in 2000 and served in several program staff positions on the Flint Area and Pathways Out of Poverty program areas. He has served as the Vice President of Programs since January 2012. Neal also serves as Vice Chair of the board of the New York City-based Foundation Center and is Chair of the board of the Council of Michigan Foundations.
Neal holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University and a master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Michigan State University. The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is a private foundation based in Flint, Michigan. Founded in 1926, the Foundation makes grants to support the Flint area, education, the environment, and civil society.
