President of Baker College of Flint
Wen Hemingway was named Baker College of Flint’s president in 2014. Prior to the appointment, she served as a member of the Baker College of Flint Board of Regents since 2006 and served as chairperson since 2008. She has also been a trustee for the Baker College system since 2008 and a director of the Jewell Educational Fund since 2012.
Ms. Hemingway earned a master of business administration from Wayne State University and a bachelor of science degree in human resource development with a specialization in training and development and a minor in management with a concentration in labor studies at Oakland University. She is currently working toward a doctor of business administration majoring in finance. She is also a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) as designated by the Association of Financial Professionals.
Before coming to Baker, Ms. Hemingway spent six years in entrepreneurial endeavors, including manufacturing, consulting and leading a real estate company she founded after a 20-year career in retail and commercial banking.
Currently, Ms. Hemingway serves on the Board of Directors as Finance Chair for McLaren Oakland, as a Campaign Committee Member for United Way of Genesee County, as a Trustee for the Jewell Education Fund, and as a Board Member of the Foodbank of Eastern Michigan. Ms. Hemingway also serves on the Public Policy Committee, the Regional Leadership Council, and the Genesee Global Action Team for the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce and the Steering Committee for the Region 6 Regional Prosperity Initiative. Ms. Hemingway maintains memberships with the Association for Financial Professionals and the Economic Club of Lapeer County.
